Goodbye Kiev - Tigger would like to see California and return for the spring! She has grown tired of the cold and has no access to fur(yet). Note her yawn! We are looking forward to Kievan chestnut tree and lilac blooms - maybe a bit hopeful for March.

Puzata Hata - The Belly House

Tigger gives the Puzata Hata a big thumbs up! Little did I know that I have been craving and eating Ukrainian fast food at the local "Belly House"! It rocks - a little like Bishop's Buffet except with vareneky, borscht and lots of sour cream.

First Overnight Train Trip to Lviv

Leo and Nicolas visited Lviv (the Slavic root for Lion) this weekend. Hence, the symbol of the city is a Lion - thousands of them can be found on door panels, iron gates, balconies and chocolate! Best "I spy" game ever!

Halloween - American Embassy Style

It was another trick or treating event at the American Embassy. Last time we did this, Leo was a breast feeding quetzal. No nightingales this year - Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker roamed the Embassy hallways taking one candy from each office. We attended with dear friends and neighbors, Sevan and Nairi.

Nico Turns Three!

Nicolas was an incredible host on his third birthday despite a fever and nap mid-party! It was a Halloween/fire engine theme with monster cupcakes, Ukrainian torte, apple bobbing, cookie decorating and of course, a pinata. Nico dressed as Schevchenko #7 in his Ukrainian soccer jersey.
